Omar Khadr is a Canadian who is being held in Guantanamo Bay for crimes he ALLEGEDLY committed when he was 15 years old. There is no substantive evidence proving that he has committed any of the crimes he has been accused of. He has been in US custody since 2002 and has not been found guilty of anything. Many human rights critics have spoken out against the illegal treatment detainees face by U.S military officials.
Canada is the only 'Western' state whose citizens in custody at Guantanamo have not yet been returned to their home country to face a fair trial.
